I actually had to think about this one overnight. I'm a musician and I have a million and one favorite songs for all occasions. But in the deepest dark of the night while I was muttering epithets at the dog for waking us up three times in one night, I remembered this one.

I have sung it as a solo, I have sung it for several funerals, and it speaks to my heart; to who we are in this changing thing we call life. We're all along for the ride, and how and where we choose to sit in the boat makes all the difference in where we end up and what shape we're in when we get there.
