*dusting off the cobwebs*

I suppose that's apropos since it's almost Halloween, but no excuses. Just lots of busy-ness. But oh look! It's almost that time again!!!

Summertime ...

And the livin' is easy. Mostly? Things definitely slow down a bit but there are other things that seem to creep their way into our lives, thereby rendering us almost as busy as before. My saving grace of anticipation is an upcoming trip to North Carolina to see our son, wife, and perfect granddaughter! We're planning to drive up in July, taking two days up and back instead of our usual exhausting marathon 14-16 hour drive. Although hubby is doing very well, he has graciously agreed to this stipulation of mine. So we'll drop the dog off at the doggy hotel on a Monday morning then hit the road. Stopping late afternoon or dinner time is the plan, and then we can chill for the night and be there well before dinner the next day. We'll only have three nights up there but it will have to be time well spent in loving on everyone and taking tons of pictures to feed my scrapbooking obsession.

So far this summer we've done VBS at church, had a fabulous cleanup day where I pulled out a ton of archive photos from the old church, and gotten a clean bill of health for both the hubby and myself. We both go back to the docs in the fall. Woohoo! Ah yes, and we had to finally replace our patched together central AC unit last week. It was a miserable few days, but we managed thanks to our wall unit in the family room and a portable unit that a friend loaned us for the bedroom.

Otherwise things are status quo. How are you all?

It's Thursday. Is it 9pm yet? Did you see last week's episode?! Holy cow!!!

 

I also enjoy the Law and Order shows, and just started watching reruns of Bones. Love Supernatural, but I tend to catch up on that over the summer when other things are in reruns. When all else fails, a syndicated episode of any of the Star Trek series' will do just fine. :)
